Princess Margaret Sweepstakes – Backstreet Boys Sweepstakes - FAQs

WHAT IS THE SWEEPSTAKES?

The Princess Margaret Backstreet Boys Sweepstakes is a national (excluding Quebec) online sweepstakes, with all funds raised benefiting cancer research and care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

 

The Prize

WHAT IS THE PRIZE?

This prize package includes premium-seat tickets with VIP lounge access to the Backstreet Boys: Into the Millennium concert during their residency at Sphere Las Vegas on Saturday, August 22, 2026. The package also includes two nights of accommodation (based on double occupancy) at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, round-trip economy-class airfare from any major Canadian city to Las Vegas, Nevada, and $1,000 Canadian in spending money.

The Contest Prize must be accepted as awarded and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Approximate Total Retail Value of the Contest Prize: $11,000.00 Canadian Dollars.

WHEN IS THE CONCERT?

The winner and their guest will attend the Backstreet Boys: Into the Millennium concert at Sphere Las Vegas on August 22, 2026. The prize includes three days and two nights of travel, departing on August 21, 2026, and returning on August 23, 2026. Exact flight times are subject to availability.

 

IF I WIN, WHO CAN I INVITE AS MY GUEST?
The winner may bring one guest of any age. However, the winner must be at least 21 years of age. Please note, guests under 21 may not be permitted to access certain areas of the resort, including the casino floor.

 

HOW WILL I CLAIM MY PRIZE?

A representative from The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation will contact the selected winner on Monday, August 17, 2026. Once the winner has signed the release form and formally accepted the prize, they will be introduced to the Foundation’s travel concierge, First in Service Canada Inc., who will reach out to the winner to confirm travel dates and coordinate flight arrangements.

 

DO I NEED A VALID PASSPORT TO CLAIM MY PRIZE?

Yes. Because the prize includes travel to the United States, all travelers must have a valid passport that remains valid for the duration of the trip. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure they and any travel companion meet all passport, entry, and travel requirements.

 

DO I HAVE TO TAKE MY PRIZE OR CAN I JUST TAKE THE CASH?

The prize is non-transferable and is non-refundable. The airfare, accommodation and concert, included in the Contest Prize are not redeemable for cash and must be accepted as awarded. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute all or any portion of the Contest Prize listed above with another prize of equal or greater value. 

 

CAN I USE PART OF THE PRIZE FOR A FUTURE VISIT?

No. The prize must be redeemed in full during the winner’s designated 2-night stay. All elements of the prize must be used during that stay and cannot be deferred, carried forward, or applied to a future visit.

 

Eligibility

WHO CAN ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES?

The sweepstakes is open to (a) legal residents of Canada, except for the Province of Quebec; and (b) who are twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of entry.

 

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO ORDER A TICKET?

Participants must be at least 21 years of age. Tickets cannot be ordered in the name of a minor.

 

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO ORDER A TICKET?

The following individuals and all their immediate family members residing in the same household are prohibited from entering the contest and being declared the winner of a prize: Board members and employees of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, members of the UHN Board of Trustees and Executive Team, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Executive Team; members of the licensed gaming supplier providing services to this program.

 

How to Enter

HOW DOES THE SWEEPSTAKES WORK?

Players may purchase entries online at www.pmcfsweepstakes.ca from 10:00 EST on August 5, 2026, until 22:00 EST on August 14, 2026.

 

Alternatively, players may enter through the No Purchase Necessary option from 10:00 EST on August 5, 2026, until 22:00 EST on August 13, 2026.

 

Entries can be bought at www.pmcfsweepstakes.ca. Pricing is as follows: 20 entries for $40; 50 entries for $75; 200 entries for $100; and 400 entries for $150.

 

There is a limit of 60,000 entries for each participant. All purchases are final and non-refundable unless otherwise set out herein.

 

No Purchase Necessary: Entries can also be obtained via a no-purchase-necessary option by sending in a copy of a 500-word handwritten original essay via email to nopurchase@thepmcf.ca. Within this email, the following details must be included: Subject Line: (i) subject “Princess Margaret Backstreet Boys Sweepstakes - No Purchase Entry.” Body: (ii) Full name; (iii) Email address; (iv) Phone number. Additionally, included as an attachment, players must send in: (v) A scanned or photographed copy of an original handwritten 500-word original essay explaining your connection to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or to cancer. Each complete scanned or photographed, handwritten original essay that is emailed in will be assigned one (1) entry that will be included in the draw.

 

Participants must provide all required information to be eligible to enter and win. Essays must be written about the identified topic and be an original handwritten essay. To qualify, the essay must be in good taste and keeping with the Contest Sponsor’s values, as determined by the Contest Sponsor in its sole discretion. Illegible submissions will not be accepted.

 

No purchase entry requests must be emailed to the email address indicated above and must be received no later than 22:00 EST on August 13, 2026, to ensure entry into the draw for the Contest Prize.  No photocopied, artificial intelligence generated, computer-generated, mechanically reproduced or mass entries permitted. Essays become the property of the Contest Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

 

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE TO PURCHASE OR SUBMIT A NO PURCHASE OPTION?

The deadline to get entries by purchase is 22:00 EST on August 14, 2026. The deadline to get an entry via a no-purchase entry with a handwritten essay is 22:00 EST on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Orders and Confirmations

I PLACED MY ORDER ONLINE TODAY.  WHEN DO I RECEIVE MY ELECTRONIC TICKET?

You will receive your ticket numbers, shortly after purchase, in an email from sweeps@thepmcf.ca  

From the time an order is placed, you should receive an email confirmation within 1-2 mins depending on the speed of your email provider and network connectivity.

If you have not received your email confirmation within that time, please check your junk/spam mail folder.

If you haven’t received your email ticket confirmation 30 minutes after you’ve purchased your ticket, you can submit a support ticket by clicking on the "Contact Support" at sweeps@thepmcf.ca.

 

I HAVE DELETED THE EMAIL WITH MY SWEEPSTAKES TICKET, AM I STILL ELIGIBLE FOR THE DRAWS?

Yes. You do not need your ticket in hand to be included in the draws. For ticket-related inquiries please contact sweeps@thepmcf.ca

The Draw

WHEN IS THE DRAW MADE?

The draw is made on Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 12:00 (noon) EST.

 

HOW IS THE DRAW MADE?

All prize draws will be made using a certified Random Number Generator software (RNG) under the supervision of BUMP, Worldwide, Inc.

All draws will take place at the offices of BUMP, Worldwide, Inc. at 18 Auriga Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, K2E 7T9.

 

HOW IS THE WINNER NOTIFIED?

After the draw, the potential Contest Winner will be notified once by email and/or by telephone by a representative from The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation shortly after the time of the draw, using the email address or telephone number (as appliable) provided with the selected entry, and will be conditionally awarded the Contest Prize subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms and conditions of these Rules. If the potential Contest Winner does not respond within 24 hours after the notification attempt, or if the prize notification email is returned as undeliverable, or if the potential Contest Winner fails to provide the necessary information to confirm their identity and eligibility to receive the Contest Prize, or is otherwise in violation of these Rules, the potential Contest Winner may be disqualified and the Contest Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, select an alternate potential Contest Winner to be selected by a random drawing from among the remaining eligible entries. The winner’s name will be posted online at www.pmcfsweepstakes.ca once they have claimed their prize.

 

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO CLAIM MY PRIZE?

We ask that the winner claim their prize within 24 hours of being notified.

 

IS THIS CONTEST CONNECTED WITH THE PRINCESS MARGARET HOME LOTTERY?

No. The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Backstreet Boys Sweepstakes is a separate fundraising program where people can purchase entries between August 5 – August 15, 2026, to win one (1) prize which includes roundtrip airfare to Las Vegas, Nevada to see the Backstreet Boys: Into the Millennium residency at Sphere Las Vegas and includes shared accommodation for two (2) to the Venetian Las Vegas Hotel.

IS THE PRINCESS MARGARET BACKSTREET BOYS SWEEPSTAKES LEGITIMATE?

Yes, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Backstreet Boys Sweepstakes is legitimate and is run and operated by employees of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. 

 

Fundraising & Tax

DOES ALL THE MONEY FLOW THROUGH TO PRINCESS MARGARET CANCER CENTRE FROM THE SWEEPSTAKES?

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation receives the revenue from all sweepstake purchases, and, after paying expenses, grants the remaining funds to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre to support life-saving cancer research. Additionally, under the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines, no tax receipt can be offered for sweepstakes ticket purchases.

 

HOW WILL PROCEEDS FROM THE SWEEPSTAKES BE USED?

The funds raised by The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation will advance breakthrough cancer research and set new standards of care for patients at The Princess Margaret and globally. Proceeds also support world-leading initiatives in areas such as early detection, innovative treatments, and comprehensive care.  All of the programs funded today will provide brighter tomorrows for cancer patients and their loved ones.

 

WILL I BE ISSUED A TAX RECEIPT?

No. According to Canada Revenue Agency regulations, charity lottery/sweepstakes purchases are considered entertainment, not a direct donation. Therefore, we are unable to issue a tax receipt for entries into The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation BC Unlocked Sweepstakes.

WHO/WHAT IS BUMP?

BUMP is a licensed and regulated raffle/lottery technology vendor that facilitates the entry of sales and draw control for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

 

WHO/WHAT IS SHOPIFY?

Shopify is an e-commerce platform that allows The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation to sell tickets to sweepstakes and lotteries online. It provides a user-friendly virtual store that displays purchase options, processes payments, and fulfilling orders. This is the official platform where Sweepstakes tickets can be purchased.
